This series is both personal and reflective - a continuous colourful landscape concerned with the transformation of the physical state into a visual, emotional and mental state. I have structured these paintings with horizontal lines and the surface is built up with several layers of acrylic paint, iridescent pigments and mediums, glitter and gilding. I work between a process of stripping and sanding back layers, and re-layering again and again. The painting has both a sense of depth and surface at the same time.
